Data Licence
What each plan lets you do with Skewtape data.
Last updated: 2 Nov 2026
Operated by Blockbrainers SAS, France.
Pre-launch notice
Skewtape is in pre-launch (launching November 2026). This licence will apply from the moment the service goes live. If you have questions beforehand, email hello@skewtape.com.
In short
- Free and History: personal use and research, for one developer.
- Builder: your own trading, bots and internal tools.
- Pro: commercial use in a product you ship to users.
- No plan lets you resell raw data or run a competing feed.

02What this covers
This licence covers Skewtape data: Parquet files, API, WebSocket and MCP responses, resolution labels, matched events, reviewer notes and notebooks, including the Kalshi data we distribute under our licence with Kalshi. It is yours alone and you cannot transfer it. We keep all other rights.
03Free and History
Personal and research, for one developer. Use the data for your own analysis, backtests and study. You can publish findings and charts that do not expose the underlying data. [TODO: whether a credit to Skewtape is required] These plans do not cover trading systems, company tools or products, and you may not pass the data on.
04Builder
Your own trading, bots and internal tools. Everything above, plus feeding your own trading systems and bots, and tools used inside your company, by you or a small team. Nobody outside your organisation may reach those tools or the data in them.
05Pro
Commercial use in your own product. Everything above, plus shipping Skewtape data inside a product you sell or give to users. Your users can see the data, and figures derived from it, inside your product.
They cannot take the data away in bulk. That rules out exporting whole raw tables, and any API or feed that passes our data on. [TODO(legal review): the boundary between Pro and a custom plan]
06Need more than Pro?
Bucket delivery, custom match requests and rights beyond this page are quoted directly. Email hello@skewtape.com.
07Kalshi data
Kalshi data reaches you under a licence from Kalshi to Blockbrainers SAS. When you receive Kalshi data through Skewtape, you accept that:
- Kalshi data is provided under that licence from Kalshi.
- You may not redistribute raw Kalshi tables.
- The "Powered by Kalshi Research" attribution applies wherever you show Kalshi data.
If you use the SDK's Kalshi client with your own Kalshi account, that data comes under your own agreement with Kalshi, not this licence. [TODO(legal review)]
08Other venue data
Venue names are trademarks of their owners, and no affiliation is implied. A venue's own terms may also apply to its data. The Attributions page lists where each venue's data comes from.
09Not on any plan
- Sharing or reselling the files or raw data as they are.
- Running a data product that competes with Skewtape.
- Sharing your API key outside your organisation.
- Saying that Skewtape or a venue endorses what you build.
The Acceptable Use Policy has the full list.
10Research licence
Academic or open-source project? Email hello@skewtape.com with who you are, the project and the data you need. [TODO: what a research licence grants, and for how long]
11When a plan ends
On Free and History, you can keep using what you downloaded, under the same rules. On Builder and Pro, API access stops when the plan ends. [TODO: whether you can keep the files and data you already received]
